The PureSOx exhaust gas scrubber absorption tower (front) and Venturi installed in the stack of the DFDS RoRo cargo ship "FICARIA SEAWAYS" in Bremerhaven in June 2009. The PureSOx exhaust gas scrubber tower, where the chemical reaction between sulphur dioxide and water takes place, has a diameter of 4.6 m and is 9.5 m high. The Venturi aids in separating particulate matter (PM).
